Horses/Mules Teamster

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Horses/Mules Teamster responsible for transporting goods and materials using horse-drawn wagons or mule teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of animal behavior to manage, care for, and train the animals.

Responsibilities

• Drive and navigate horse-drawn wagons, adjusting for terrain and weather conditions.
• Supervise the care of animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
• Conduct regular checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Coordinate with logistics to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
• Act as the point of contact for customer interactions regarding delivery and animal care.
• Develop and implement best practices for animal handling and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

Education

• Additional certifications in animal care or logistics preferred

Experience

• Experience in transportation and logistics preferred

Technical Skills

• GPS navigation
• Equipment maintenance

• Attention to detail
• Teamwork

Advantageous

• Experience in rural or remote environments: Familiarity with rural logistics and animal care practices.
• First aid certification for animals: Certification in animal first aid will be a plus.
