Special Procedures Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Special Procedures Technician to work in our medical facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specialized medical procedures on patients, such as interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment is ready for use.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures and care.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless patient care.
• Analyze data from imaging studies to support diagnostic processes.
• Work with minimal supervision while ensuring team collaboration.
• Implement safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Evaluate the performance of imaging equipment and report issues as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field

Experience

• Experience with interventional radiology or electrophysiology studies is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of imaging protocols
• Familiarity with advanced imaging technology

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking skills
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) registration

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with advanced procedures such as TAVR or Watchman: Experience in cutting-edge cardiac procedures.
