Job Description

As a Special Needs Educator, you will play a vital role in the academic and social development of children with special educational needs. Collaborating with educators and parents, you will implement effective teaching strategies that cater to each student’s unique abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work with therapeutic staff to integrate various supports into the classroom.
• Utilize assistive technology to enhance learning experiences.
• Conduct assessments to determine student needs and capabilities.
• Develop and implement behaviour intervention plans.
• Collaborate with external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
• Work closely with parents to encourage involvement and progress.
• Attend IEP meetings and advocate for students' needs.
• Participate in curriculum planning sessions.
• Engage in peer mentorship to promote best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field is an advantage
• Additional certifications in Autism Spectrum Disorders or similar are a plus

Experience

• Experience working with diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
