Electrical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing electrical systems. You'll work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation and maintenance procedures for electrical systems.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical failures.
• Define technical specifications for equipment and installations.
• Work closely with suppliers and contractors on projects.
• Implement measures to enhance system resilience.
• Deliver training sessions to junior staff on new technologies.
• Ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct audits of electrical systems to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• BTech in Electrical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience

Technical Skills

• Electrical system installation
• HVAC systems knowledge

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Adaptability

Certifications

• SANS-IEC 60364 compliance training
• First Aid certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with motor control systems: Familiarity with the control of electric motors in various applications.
• Technical report writing skills: Ability to create detailed reports on project outcomes and performance.
