Cybersecurity Consultant

Job Description

We are in search of a Cybersecurity Consultant who will be responsible for the protection of information systems by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate measures. You will work closely with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions that address their unique challenges in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to improve overall security awareness within the organization.
• Assess the effectiveness of security controls and recommend enhancements.
• Provide actionable insights from audits and assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
• Advise on secure software development practices.
• Implement encryption protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Participate in cybersecurity training programs for employees.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies tailored to client needs.
• Document all security processes and incidents thoroughly.
• Support the integration of new security technologies as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a similar field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in cybersecurity consulting or related area

Technical Skills

• Firewall Management
• Data Privacy Regulations (POPIA, GDPR)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell): Ability to automate security tasks using scripting.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks: Experience with frameworks like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.
