Civil Engineer (Structural)

Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Engineer (Structural) to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in structural analysis and design, capable of leading diverse engineering projects while ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Perform feasibility studies and assess the viability of projects.
• Ensure accuracy and precision in structural calculations.
• Implement innovative design solutions to improve sustainability.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submissions.
• Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Facilitate project meetings with clients, contractors, and your team.
• Manage project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on the latest engineering trends and technologies.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering projects.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Green Building Design: Expertise in sustainable practices in structural engineering.
