We are on the lookout for a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while contributing to the growth of a dynamic engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies to assess the practicality of designs.
• Collaborate with local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.
• Perform risk assessments and manage risk during the project delivery process.
• Develop and implement quality control measures for construction work.
• Provide training and development to team members to enhance skills and competencies.
• Engage in continual professional development and keep up to date with industry trends.
• Interface with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
• Document and report on the progress of projects to senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• ETABS
• Matlab

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Civil Engineering Technologist (CET)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with green building practices: Knowledge of sustainable construction methods and materials.
