Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Planner to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping urban spaces by developing plans and policies that address community needs while promoting sustainable practices. You will work closely with local authorities, stakeholders, and the community to ensure development aligns with environmental regulations and enhances quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive development plans in consultation with stakeholders.
• Assess the feasibility of proposed developments.
• Utilize GIS software for spatial analysis and planning.
• Prepare planning documents and policy recommendations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
• Lead initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability in urban development.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on development projects.
• Monitor urban growth and recommend adjustments to plans.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Studies
• Master's degree in Urban Planning is beneficial

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant urban planning experience
