Drayage Truck Driver

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Drayage Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from ports to warehouses or distribution centers, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a drayage truck for the transportation of containerized cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure cargo is properly secured and complies with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of trips and vehicle maintenance.
• Engage with clients to ensure their transportation needs are met.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff for effective loading and unloading.
• Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings.
• Follow GPS navigation for optimal routing.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant transportation regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with heavy vehicles.

Technical Skills

• GPS Navigation

Certifications

• Forklift Operation Certification

Languages

• Afrikaans: Basic
• English: Fluent
