Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop emergency response plans and procedures.
• Advise management on health and safety issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Ensure proper safety signage is displayed on-site.
• Foster a culture of safety among employees.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Health and Safety Management or Environmental Science
• Health and Safety certifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years experience in an engineering environment

• Emergency Planning

• Training Skills

Certifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Emergency Response Training: Hands-on experience in delivering emergency response training to employees.
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations: Understanding of EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
