Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter in Durban, you will review applications, determine risk levels, and decide on insurance coverage and pricing. Collaborating with our sales team, you ensure our clients' needs are met effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess insurance applications to determine risk exposure and potential losses.
• Provide recommendations to clients based on financial analysis and risk assessments.
• Negotiate insurance policy conditions and build rapport with brokers and clients.
• Prepare and present reports on underwriting decisions and customer interactions.
• Adjust existing policies based on a client's changing circumstances and new information provided.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and changes for improved decision-making.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certification in underwriting is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting or related financial services
