Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our growing team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will evaluate and assess risks for policy applicants, ensuring our clients receive the best coverage options based on their needs and profiles.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve underwriting guidelines and workflows.
  • Maintain documentation and thorough records of underwriting decisions.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on policy regulations.
  • Advise on complex underwriting cases requiring expert judgment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to discuss trends and challenges.
  • Assist in developing training materials for staff on underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Insurance certification is a plus
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience in insurance
