Join our Johannesburg office as an Insurance Underwriter. You will evaluate and underwrite insurance policies while ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and an understanding of various insurance products.

Responsibilities

• Review complex insurance applications requiring higher levels of scrutiny.
• Advise on policy terms and premiums based on risk evaluations.
• Work closely with claims adjusters to understand loss experiences and adjust guidelines accordingly.
• Implement best practices in risk management and underwriting efficiency.
• Assist senior management in developing new insurance products.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry changes.
• Provide feedback on the underwriting process and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance or financial analysis

• AIU (Associate in Insurance Underwriting)
