Job Description

We are searching for a knowledgeable Grid Engineer to join our passionate team in Cape Town. In this role, you will focus on developing and maintaining grid systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency in energy distribution related to electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analyze grid data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Conduct site visits for project evaluation and monitoring.
• Implement industry best practices for grid management and operation.
• Participate in the development of strategic plans for grid modernization.
• Collaborate with software developers to enhance grid monitoring tools.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Masters or equivalent experience preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical systems or grid engineering

• Simulation Software

Certifications

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
• LEED Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI): Knowledge of AMI technologies and their application in grid management.
• Familiarity with IEEE Standards: Understanding of IEEE standards relevant to electrical engineering.
