The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis, project management, and advising clients on investment decisions. Responsibilities

• Assess insurance applications and determine coverage levels.
• Evaluate risk factors and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Collaborate with agents to secure necessary information and documentation.
• Review and revise policies according to individual client needs and risks.
• Maintain accurate records of underwritten policies and decisions.
• Communicate directly with clients and agents regarding coverage determinations.
• Conduct regular reviews of existing policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory updates.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience with a focus on commercial lines

Technical Skills

• Insurance Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in commercial underwriting: Experience in underwriting commercial insurance policies.
• Knowledge of local regulations: Familiarity with South African insurance regulations and compliance standards.
