Job Description

As an Educational, Guidance, and Career Counselor at Career Pathways NGO, you will play a vital role in assisting offenders in developing job readiness and career planning skills. You will be instrumental in facilitating workshops, providing one-on-one counseling, and connecting individuals with potential employers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client skills, interests, and employment history.
  • Guide clients in developing employment plans and job search strategies.
  • Liaise with employers to identify job vacancies suitable for clients.
  • Monitor the progress of clients in their jobs and provide ongoing support.
  • Organize and conduct community outreach programs to promote available services.
  • Implement best practices for career counseling and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with marginalized populations, especially ex-offenders

Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Zulu: Basic
