Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join our passionate team in East London. The ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical setting, providing therapy and support to a diverse range of clients facing various mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic interventions to support mental wellness.
• Conduct follow-up evaluations to assess treatment efficacy.
• Advocate for clients and connect them with community resources.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss client care strategies.
• Stay updated with the latest mental health practices and research.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Psychology or related mental health field
• Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic approaches is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of diverse therapy experience

Technical Skills

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Trauma-Informed Care

Soft Skills

• Active Listening
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Trauma-Focused Therapy Certification
• Certified Mental Health Counselor (CMHC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

• Training in mindfulness techniques: Certification in mindfulness practices for therapeutic applications.
• Experience with teletherapy platforms: Familiarity with online therapy tools and best practices for remote sessions.
