Rehabilitation Counselor

Job Description

As a Rehabilitation Counselor, you will provide essential rehabilitation services to individuals who are blind or have low vision. You will work closely with clients to develop personalized rehabilitation plans, ensuring they gain the skills needed for independence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual assessments to tailor rehabilitation services.
• Lead training sessions on the use of assistive devices and mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance client care and outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to clients and their families.
• Manage caseloads effectively, ensuring timely service delivery.
• Participate in community outreach to raise awareness of rehabilitation services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Rehabilitation Services or Social Work

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years working with individuals with disabilities.

Languages

• English: Fluent
• South African Sign Language: Basic
