Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy department in Pretoria. The successful candidate will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing medications, maintain records, and engage actively with patients to ensure their understanding of prescribed medications.

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists with medication therapy management.
  • Engage with patients regarding their medication, answering questions.
  • Help oversee the pharmacy's compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior pharmacy staff.
  • Participate in inventory audits and drug expiry checks.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of medications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in health promotion campaigns and community outreach.
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Pharmacy or related field
  • Certification from a recognized pharmacy board
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting
