Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Pretoria office. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining policy terms and conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed risk assessments and recommend policy exceptions.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to clients and brokers.
• Analyze claims data to inform underwriting decisions.
• Offer advice on risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure timely and accurate issuance of insurance policies.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Business Management
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years in a similar underwriting role

Certifications

• Insurance Risk Management Certification
• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
