Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care, including emergency surgery and routine check-ups, as well as developing strong relationships with clients to ensure optimal health for their pets.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries in animals.
• Execute surgical procedures with precision and care.
• Educate clients on pet health, vaccination, and wellness plans.
• Manage recovery protocols for surgical patients.
• Work closely with veterinary technicians to maintain clinic operations.
• Participate in community outreach programs and initiatives.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior veterinarians.
• Engage in continuous education to enhance veterinary skills.
• Monitor and manage the clinic's equipment and facilities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Medicine is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting

• Member of the South African Veterinary Association
