Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are hiring a Chemical Engineer to be part of our dynamic team in Durban. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of improvements in manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments to test new processes or materials.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to troubleshoot product defects.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of suppliers for raw materials.
• Ensure all processes meet sustainability and environmental goals.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry

• Chemical Safety

Certifications

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies: Certification or experience with Lean Six Sigma techniques.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting: Relevant experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
