Steel Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a proficient Steel Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in the design, analysis, and construction of steel structures, collaborating closely with project managers and architects to ensure project completion within scope and budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the structural design of steel components for various projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports.
• Evaluate material specifications and identify potential issues.
• Provide technical support and advice to site teams.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Research and recommend innovative construction methods.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) certification or equivalent

Experience

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in steel structure design.

• Finite Element Analysis
