Job Description

As a Public Health Officer at HealthFirst Solutions, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing public health initiatives aimed at reducing health risks in the Durban community. Your expertise will contribute to the design and evaluation of programs that enhance community well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Design public health programs tailored to community needs.
  • Conduct research on public health issues affecting the community.
  • Collaborate with health care providers to ensure quality patient care.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions.
  • Provide consultation to local health departments and organizations.
  • Engage in public speaking to educate the community about health.
  • Maintain accurate records of public health activities and outcomes.
  • Lead health promotion activities in schools and community centers.
  • Prepare and present reports to stakeholders and funding agencies.
  • Develop grant proposals to secure funding for public health initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in community health or public health roles
