Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to become part of our growing team in Durban. You will analyze applications, assess risk, and help ensure that our clients receive adequate coverage. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Analyze application submissions and calculate risk metrics.
• Recommend underwriting guidelines and underwriting outcomes.
• Prepare documentation for approval or rejection of policies.
• Develop and review underwriting policies to improve efficiency.
• Participate in training sessions for new underwriters.
• Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or related discipline
• Professional insurance credentials are highly advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or risk management

Certifications

• CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)
