Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. This role involves designing and implementing cloud solutions, ensuring the highest levels of cloud security and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD processes, and various cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure cloud networks, ensuring security configurations are in place.
• Collaborate on development projects and provide operational support.
• Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for cloud resources.
• Provide updates and reports on cloud performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management

Technical Skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Kubernetes

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Communication

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments, leading sprint plans and retrospective meetings.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana: Utilizing monitoring solutions to ensure optimal cloud performance.
