Acoustical Engineer

Job Description

As an Acoustical Engineer, you will conduct site surveys, design acoustical systems, and work with architects and engineers to enhance sound performance across various applications. Your expertise will be essential for delivering innovative solutions in a variety of environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data from noise surveys and prepare technical reports.
• Provide design input for noise and vibration control measures.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge in the field of acoustics.
• Assist clients in understanding acoustical specifications and requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in acoustical design, testing, and modelling

Technical Skills

• Acoustical Software (e.g. SoundPLAN, CATT-Acoustic)
• Project Management

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Communication

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Environmental Noise Control: Knowledge and experience working on noise control measures for environmental impact.
• Sound Measurement Techniques: Experience in using sound measurement equipment for testing and analysis.
