Insurance Solutions Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will assess and analyse insurance applications, ensuring risk is managed effectively while adhering to company policies and procedures. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate risk for insurance proposals and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to assess claims history.
• Assist in the development of underwriting guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
• Prepare reports for management on underwriting performance.
• Analyze market conditions to inform underwriting strategies.
• Participate in training sessions for new underwriters.
• Review and suggest improvements for underwriting technology.
• Assist with client renewals and policy adjustments.
• Provide outstanding customer service to clients and brokers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Economics, or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or related fields

• Policy Evaluation

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
