We are on the lookout for a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating risks and determining premium rates for insurance policies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing excellent service to our clients. Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments for insurance applications in line with policy guidelines.
  • Establish premium rates based on thorough analysis and data evaluation.
  • Interact with applicants to discuss underwriting decisions and policy recommendations.
  • Support compliance initiatives by staying updated with legislative changes.
  • Develop and refine underwriting techniques and processes.
  • Collaborate with claims personnel to ensure smooth policy execution.
  • Assist in training new hires on underwriting practices.
  • Review and report on underwriting performance metrics.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in underwriting or insurance-related roles
