Actuarial Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills and a passion for problem-solving, along with a dedication to providing high-quality analyses and insights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analysis of data sets to assess risk profiles.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models for forecasting and budgeting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data processes and systems.
• Prepare reports and presentations that communicate complex analytical findings clearly.
• Assist in the pricing of insurance products based on actuarial calculations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior analysts.
• Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Master's degree preferred but not required

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial analysis or related positions

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel
• Data Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Team Player

Certifications

• Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA)
• Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with statistical analysis software (SAS, SPSS): Expertise in statistical analysis and model validation using software packages.
• Understanding of insurance industry regulations: Good knowledge of compliance requirements in the actuarial field.
