Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our teachers and assist in nurturing our students' learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, possess strong communication skills, and be ready to work closely with both teachers and students to enhance the learning process.

Responsibilities

• Help create engaging and interactive lesson plans.
• Assist in grading student assignments and providing constructive feedback.
• Facilitate group activities and discussions to enhance student learning.
• Support the emotional and social development of students.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to improve educational practices.
• Monitor and document student behavior and progress.
• Participate in training and professional development sessions.
• Engage with parents and guardians during school events and parent-teacher meetings.
• Assist with school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting student success.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education is preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

• Lesson Delivery Support

Certifications

• First Aid Certification
• Child Development Training

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Setswana: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with After-school Programs: Experience working in after-school programs or extracurricular activities.
• Fluency in Multiple Languages: Ability to communicate in more than one language widely spoken in the community.
