Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our Pretoria office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and modifying structural elements in various projects. Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations is essential, along with proficient use of design software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance during the design phase.
• Ensure that all projects meet legal standards and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of construction schedules and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• CSI Bridge

Soft Skills

• Team Collaboration
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Construction Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with international building codes: Ability to understand and implement building codes from various jurisdictions.
• Experience with building information modeling (BIM): Hands-on experience using BIM tools to enhance design workflows.
