Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Officer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of public health policies and will be instrumental in implementing health initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing community well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Implement health assessment surveys within the community.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address public health issues.
  • Educate community members about disease prevention strategies.
  • Collect and interpret epidemiological data for decision-making.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to discuss health priorities.
  • Identify and mobilize resources for health programme support.
  • Conduct training for community health workers.
  • Ensure program sustainability through effective resource planning.
  • Promote health literacy through workshops and seminars.
  • Advise on public health policy development based on community feedback.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in community health or public health roles
