Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Durban. The successful individual will be responsible for managing a range of civil engineering projects, from conception to completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that contribute to the country's infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs and specifications for construction projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
• Prepare reports on project progress and performance for management.
• Work with local authorities to obtain building permits and approvals.
• Ensure all work performed meets quality standards and client expectations.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments as needed.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during construction.
• Stay updated on advances in civil engineering technology and practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Certification in Project Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering and construction

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• NEBOSH Certification in Occupational Health and Safety

Languages

• Knowledge of green building certifications: Familiarity with LEED or similar certifications.
