Job Description

As a Cross Cut Sawyer, you will be responsible for operating cross-cut saws to accurately cut timber into specified lengths. Your role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of our timber products while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of cross-cut saws.
• Accurately measure, mark, and cut timber to required specifications.
• Monitor the quality of cuts and rectify any discrepancies.
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by following established procedures.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production goals.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance on cutting equipment.
• Document production details and quality control observations.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities related to wood processing.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skillsets.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in the woodworking or forestry industry is advantageous.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in timber processing or related field.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of woodworking techniques
• Machine maintenance skills

Soft Skills

• Effective communication skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Forklift operator certification (advantageous)

Languages

• English: Fluent
