Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will engage in developing and optimizing chemical processes, ensuring quality control, and supporting production operations. You will be instrumental in implementing innovative solutions to drive efficiency and sustainability within our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement best practices for chemical manufacturing.
• Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting chemical equipment.
• Lead initiatives to improve sustainability in manufacturing processes.
• Conduct training sessions for junior engineers and production staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in process engineering within the chemical sector

Technical Skills

• Chemical Process Simulation Software (ASPEN, HYSYS)
• Project Management

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Interpersonal Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Six Sigma: Preferably certified in Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
• Experience with pilot plant operations: Hands-on experience in overseeing pilot plant testing and operations.
