Health Informatics Specialist

Job Description

The Health Informatics Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating quality control policies and procedures in our healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals, providing insights and feedback to enhance patient care while ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and review quality improvement strategies.
• Conduct workshops on quality control and patient safety.
• Analyze healthcare practices and suggest improvements.
• Track and report on the effectiveness of quality initiatives.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies for compliance audits.
• Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement within the healthcare team.
• Manage documentation related to quality assurance processes.
• Engage with stakeholders to promote quality initiatives.
• Evaluate the training needs of staff related to quality practices.
• Document and report on compliance with established quality standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Certification in Quality Control is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a quality control role

Certifications

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Certification in Quality Improvement

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Quality Improvement Methodologies: Experience in methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
