Mental Health Nurse

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about making a difference in patients' lives. Working in Cape Town, you'll assess, plan, and provide care for patients suffering from mental health conditions. With a focus on therapeutic relationships, your role will involve engaging with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team to foster a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds to assess and support patients in care.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate on treatment plans with the entire health care team.
• Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families.
• Engage in continuing education to stay updated on best practices in mental health.
• Participate in case management and outcome evaluations.
• Develop and promote mental health outreach programs in the community.

Requirements

Education

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution
• Postgraduate studies in mental health nursing is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in a mental health setting
