Endodontist

Job Description

As an Endodontist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases associated with the dental pulp and root of teeth. You will conduct complex root canal treatments and ensure the well-being of our patients during their dental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out examinations and diagnose conditions affecting dental pulp.
• Execute root canal procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Draft treatment strategies and discuss them with patients.
• Implement strict infection control measures in all procedures.
• Document patient treatment histories and progress accurately.
• Engage in continuous education regarding endodontic practices.
• Collaborate with general dentists and specialists for holistic treatment.
• Offer empathetic communication to enhance the patient experience.
• Administer pain relief and manage patient comfort during visits.
• Follow-up with patients post-treatment to ensure recovery.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS)
• Postgraduate qualification in endodontics

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of dental experience, including 2 years focused on endodontics.

Technical Skills

• Dental Imaging Software
• Endodontic Tools

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Communication

Certifications

• Registration with the HPCSA
• Certification in Advanced Endodontics

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
