Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer who is passionate about sustainability and has a strong background in environmental impact assessments. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively on projects aimed at enhancing environmental quality in Durban and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessments for new projects.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists and engineers to develop solutions.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of development projects.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to clients.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for regulatory submissions.
• Maintain communication with regulatory agencies.
• Review project proposals and their compliance with environmental policies.
• Assist in public consultation processes regarding environmental projects.
• Implement and monitor remediation plans for environmental restoration.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in environmental engineering or a related field
