Responsibilities

• Assess client needs through interviews and observations.
• Design and execute intervention strategies that address social challenges.
• Offer counseling services to clients, enabling them to manage stress and emotional difficulties.
• Work with community organizations to provide additional resources.
• Record and monitor client progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Educate clients about available services and support programs.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance service delivery.
• Connect clients with job training and employment resources.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
• Master's degree in Social Work preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in social work or related field

Technical Skills

• Counseling
• Crisis Intervention

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Registered Social Worker (RSW)
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in adolescent counseling: Ability to work specifically with youth and adolescent issues.
• Familiarity with local community resources: Knowledge of available support services in Port Elizabeth.
