Job Description

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play an integral role in guiding individuals towards mental wellness. You will provide support, conduct assessments, and implement treatment plans. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of mental health issues and demonstrate empathy and professionalism while interacting with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychological tests and interpret results.
  • Conduct family therapy as needed.
  • Advocate for client needs within the healthcare system.
  • Implement evidence-based practices in therapy.
  • Work to reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues in the community.
  • Provide referral services to specialists when necessary.
  • Support clients in establishing personal recovery goals.
  • Engage with community organizations to enhance mental health services.
  • Research and apply new therapeutic techniques.
  • Provide feedback to colleagues to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Postgraduate qualification in Counseling is advantageous
Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in mental health counseling
