Actuarial Scientist

Job Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Actuarial Scientist to analyze data and provide insights that inform our financial strategies and enhance our product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain databases for financial modeling activities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of different product lines based on risk data.
• Present findings to stakeholders regularly, highlighting insights and recommendations.
• Engage in continuous improvements to financial modeling techniques.
• Participate in training sessions to stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial analysis

Certifications

• Fellowship of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA)
• Other related actuarial certifications

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with machine learning applications: Knowledge of machine learning techniques for improving predictive accuracy in risk analyses.
• Experience using SQL for data manipulation: Proficient in writing SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
