We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk, and determine coverage terms, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and create reports on underwriting performance and trends.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting strategies and challenges.
• Provide input for policy and procedure improvements based on underwriting experiences.
• Educate clients on coverage options and risk management strategies.
• Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to their development and growth.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or Insurance
• Professional designation in underwriting preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting, with a focus on risk assessment

Technical Skills

• Insurance Policies
• Loan Application Evaluation

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI)
• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
