Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a Public Health Specialist to join our passionate team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing health initiatives that tackle pressing public health issues. You will work closely with community partners and stakeholders to promote health education, disease prevention, and overall wellness.

Responsibilities

• Implement health initiatives that promote disease prevention.
• Analyze trends in public health data to inform programming.
• Collaborate with schools and community centers to provide health education.
• Identify resources and funding opportunities for health projects.
• Facilitate partnerships with local government and organizations.
• Present health findings to various stakeholders.
• Create promotional materials for public health campaigns.
• Support the development of public health policies.
• Conduct outreach to underserved populations.
• Participate in public health advocacy efforts at local and national levels.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a related discipline
• Master's degree in Public Health is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in health promotion and community engagement

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in an additional local language: Proficiency in a local language such as Zulu or Xhosa is a plus.
