Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Randburg team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural design and analysis, working on diverse projects that challenge and inspire. You will collaborate with architects and contractors to develop optimal structural solutions, ensuring safety, sustainability, and compliance with local standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from conception to completion.
• Perform advanced structural calculations and analyses.
• Conduct peer reviews on design and engineering methodologies.
• Train and develop junior staff in structural engineering principles.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including contractors and consultants.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability standards.
• Prepare and present project proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to designs.
• Foster a culture of safety and quality in all engineering processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Building Codes Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Creativity

Certifications

• Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of CAD Standards: Experience with industry CAD standards and best practices.
• Experience with project management software: Proficient in using software tools for project tracking and management.
