Epidemiology Consultant

Job Description

We are seeking an Epidemiology Consultant who will leverage their expertise to enhance public health programs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in data analysis, health outcomes assessment, and policy formulation to improve the health standards of communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead community health assessments and surveys.
• Interpret complex health data for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organisations.
• Apply statistical methods to interpret health data.
• Contribute to the development of health education materials.

Requirements

Education

• PhD in Epidemiology or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of consultancy experience in public health

Technical Skills

• Health program evaluation
• Research methods

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Public Health Certification Board (PHCB) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in community health: Experience working in public health at the community level.
• Fluency in additional South African languages: Fluency in Zulu or Tswana is an advantage.
