Metal-Refining Furnace Operator

Job Description

As a Metal-Refining Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Bessemer converters to ensure the effective removal of impurities from iron and steel. This role involves collaboration with the production team to optimize processes and ensure high-quality output.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the melting process in Bessemer converters to ensure quality standards are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to uphold safety standards.
• Coordinate with the quality control team to meet product specifications.
• Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance efficiency.
• Utilize technical drawings and schematics for interpreting equipment operations.
• Assist in inventory management of materials used in production.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical or vocational training in metallurgy or a related field is preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience operating and maintaining Bessemer converters or similar equipment.

Technical Skills

Certifications

• Training or certification in occupational health and safety
