Security Engineer

Job Description

We’re seeking a passionate Security Engineer to enhance our cybersecurity team in Cape Town. You will focus on identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security breaches, and developing policies to mitigate risks. A deep understanding of firewall and intrusion detection systems is preferred, along with relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security protocols and procedures.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Respond to security incidents and breaches promptly.
• Collaborate with IT teams to reinforce security measures.
• Provide training and guidance on security best practices.
• Create detailed reports on security performance and incidents.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends and threats.
• Perform penetration testing to identify system vulnerabilities.
• Work with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Assist in developing disaster recovery plans.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certification in cybersecurity is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields
