Security Engineer

Job Description

We’re seeking a passionate Security Engineer to enhance our cybersecurity team in Cape Town. You will focus on identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security breaches, and developing policies to mitigate risks. A deep understanding of firewall and intrusion detection systems is preferred, along with relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage firewall and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Respond to security audits and maintain compliance.
• Educate employees on cyber threats and security protocols.
• Collaborate with external security agencies for threat intelligence.
• Research and evaluate new cybersecurity technologies.
• Assist in privacy impact assessments and data protection measures.
• Document security incidents and maintain incident response logs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certification in cybersecurity is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields
