We are seeking a skilled Art Appraiser with a passion for art and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will assess the value of artworks and objects for various purposes including insurance, taxation, and resale.
Responsibilities
Research various art forms and their historical significance.
Document and preserve appraisal findings for future reference.
Engage in negotiations for art sales, following up with clients as necessary.
Consult with artists and curators to ascertain authenticity and provenance.
Advise clients on the best practices for art conservation.
Provide training to junior appraisers and interns.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards.
Prepare presentations for client meetings outlining appraisal results.
Requirements
Education
Master's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or related fields will be advantageous.
Experience
5+ years of experience in art appraisal or related roles.
